Come out the front door this morning to burn some more brush and I saw a black bear over in the kids park... he was alone... and about 24-30 inches at the shoulder and probably 36-40 long.. I didn't see from the head or tail so I could give you girth...

Just wondering about the lifecycle.. I assume if it was a sow she'd have cubs or be with other sows.. So this was a male..

Of course the bee hives are beside the park.. I have a box of 30-30 out just in case...

If your estimates are correct or close, that would be last years cub.

Without a sow present, I would guess it to be 2 yr old.

If youve got a tag, or its a nuisance bear( bee hives) shoot it and ask questions later. Just play on the legal side of things.

When I had a bee yards over twenty years ago, the electric fence kept them out. A licence or tag was required if they were outside the yard and nothing if they were inside. I always had a tag, and did not go to the yards without a rifle . . . and never saw a bear.
