So,..I bought a Glock 17...

She's going to be used, but not shot to death for sure..if you can shoot a Glock to death...more of a tryout to find a good sidearm for IPSC...If I like her, mabe a new one down the road...

I also have a gen 1 and shoot it in IPSC i love it

Gents..just found a Glock 17 on the EE...should have it in a few weeks..Nothing fancy, just a Gen 1 9mm...I have a bit of experience with pistols, not alot with the Glock...Any thoughts on what I should tweak to get her running well?
Since there are very few Glock Gen 1s that are in original condition I'd be really tempted to leave it as is.

Yes your Gen 2 needs new sights. Never hurts to do some updates!
It's a Gen 1 not a Gen 2. I'll reiterate what I posted on the 13th--Gen 1 Glocks in original condition are really quite rare (especially if the OP has the one I'm thinking he has). If he wants to swap out the sights, mag release, stipple the grip or whatever I really think a Gen 2 or Gen 3 is a much better choice--there are way more of them around to mess around with to get it just right.

My gen 3 has trijicon sites, some grip tape, and goes bang everytime, no real need to do anything, just have fun shooting it...
IMO, if you want to mod something get a norc 1911 and start throwing parts on it.

Now that I have had a chance to get some hands on with her,I think she will stay as is...Have a few mags and ammo...range trip coming up!...Thanks for the advice everyone!
