I was delivering items for work today when I realised I was going to be going right by a gun shop and decided that it would be nice to take a look inside.

Once inside I asked what they stocked for handguns and said "we actually only have XD9 and XD40's in stock" so I asked to see one and before long I found myself saying "I'll take it".

This model XD comes with a Springfield holster, mag pouch and some sort of loader for the same price as the XD9 with no accessories!

It felt good in my hand compared to the Glock 22 I fired Saturday (I am not a Glock hater, but the XD felt better)

So yeah, that's my story. :D

I'm shooting a Springfield XD 9mm, both in IPSC and PPC. The gun is reliable, easy to change mags, and very accurate too. Many people told me it's a better buy than Glock and I agree.

For recoil springs, full size 1911 will work just fine. Mine likes the 22lbs for my type of loads. I have others from 18lbs and up if anyone is interested. All new in bags.

If your XD has a one piece spring guide, I see no point in getting an SS version. Mine works just fine.

I do like the fibre optics sights though and strongly suggest getting the rubber stick on grip panels. I really like the grip as it comes out of the box and love it now with these stick on grips.

One of the few pistols that I own that I am not itching to change a bunch of stuff. Works very well.

price wise XD's are the best buys but if you go into more competetive shooting personally i like to stick with the 1911/2011 models

im not to sure on the life of an XD because it is still a reletively new gun just modeled after the glock.
but tell us how it goes with it in the future

No, only the .40 does and it's for a limited time only to promote the line of pistols.

This is not true. XD9, 40 & .45ACP's all come with "XD gear"
Epps currently has XD9's in stock with "XD gear" for $749.00

www.hs2000talk.com for links to suppliers. Unfortunately, a US part so import will be necessary.

You need to have a XD40 and get a 9mm barrel. You can't get a 9mm then go the other way (unless someone has just come out with a barrel recently). I would use the 40 mags for the 9mm. The lips are really close together and 9mm ammo will be held in place.

I was going to get one too but ended up getting a Norc M77 instead. Same money and simpler. A pretty nice pistol too - very surprised, very accurate.
