So I emailed thureon...

Hmmm...first I've heard of these. Would certainly make for a less expensive alternative to a dedicated 9mm AR-15 carbine. What is the reliability like?

imo it looks kick-ass and the jr looks like a sr22 (which is not great)
but the jr has the glock mag advantage especially the 10/33's canada ammo will be bringing in

i dont see how glock mags are a big advantage, we have 10 rounds 9mm ar mags... only thing that might help is that the glock mags are longer.

The Thureon is but ugly compared to the JR IMHO!

That riser/rail is really high and might make mounting optics tricky, and the thin metal handguard seems ridiculous!

Can the handguard be swapped out on the Thureon?

i dont like the jr because i don't like quad rails, i like the tech-9 ish look of the thureon i guess. and the only reason i like the idea of glock mags better is the cheap 10/33's coming soon. try finding a reliable and cheap source of 10/30 or 10/32 ar mags? i couldnt

At the ShotShow, Thureon Defense was very excited about the prospect of Canadian Sales. I was impressed with how much they knew about Canadian laws, and how they really wanted their product up here. He had a bunch of gun girls signing posters as well...it was one of my favorite booths!!

That's excellent news! There weren't any names thrown around concerning who the importer would be, were there?

Just curious.

You guys are high as f**k if you think the Thureon looks better then the JR model. Atleast JR machined some detail into their reciever. The skinny tube on the TD model is lame.

Well I prefer the look of a totally vertical feed-path like the Thureon with Uzi-mags vs. the forward-canted Glock mags in the JR.

But I do like the over-all styling of the JR and would rather a railed forestock than a vented shroud...

And Thureon could've cut costs by not making proprietary sights, & incorporating a monolithic rail to accomodate flip-up BUIS sights (like the JR).

* I just Email Thureon about importation. We'll see if I get a reponse...
