Hey guys,

For those of you who have recently answered my question about buying a first handgun, I tought you might want to know.
Today I was at my local gun shop and I finally bought one: a cz 75 shadow (9 mm). I just could not resist.
I really hesitated between this one and a Sig, but I chose the CZ.
Keeping in mind what many of you said, I also want to buy ( in the coming months) a .22lr. I looked at the GSG 1911 in .22lr. I know it is not as precise as a Buckmark or a Ruger Mark 3, but it looks much better and cooler to me.

Thaks again for all that have given me advises. I really appreciate it.

AWESOME CHOICE! Another CZ fanboy!

Good choice on the CZ. I do NOT recommend a GSG 1911. Mine is a terrible pos but I suppose I could have just got a lemon. My ruger mark 3 might not look ###y but it has never not went bang.

I am waiting on a Shadow presently. I have a M&P 9 and a SIG branded GSG 1911-22. If you can tinker then get the GSG it is a good gun, you need the hard plastic buffer, not the rubber POS. I bought a SIG GSG for myself and then a GSG for my brother, the SIG piece is better made. Personally, in 22LR auto loader I would get a M&P. In fact I will be buying one in the next few weeks.

You might be right guys. As I am searching on the net I realise that when I buy a .22, the Sig p26 classic in .22lr might be a better choice ( though a bit more expensive).
Happy to see that the CZ ( in 9 mm) is a good choice according to everybody.

Great choice for your first handgun! I bought a SP-01 Shadow the other day and after shooting a few mags through it I'm wondering why I waited so long to buy one. After only 30 rounds I knew the Shadow was a keeper....

1ST year of the military shoot here there were 3 CZ 'S 2-shadows and a combat .finished 1,2,3, .next year there were 11. more every year.exceptional quality. as a side note I have a ISSC short versionwith the sq edged trigger guard- new version. very very happy with it.

I'm new to the game, but I think I'm going the way of the CZ. Question for the vets of the board and this brand, is there a major difference between the Shadow and the SP-01? Is the price difference between the two really justify the performance difference?
