So I had some work done on my CZ...

UPDATE!

Swapped out the factory garbage grip for a Mapul MOE AK grip!

(some modification required! You have to cut off the flange/bracket that the factory grip sits in, and slot the hole in the grip so you can move the grip further forward. I didnt care because this is far superior to the factory grip, or any aftermarket options made with the CZ pattern)

this grip is AMAZING!

oh and I added a NEA rail and an IOR micro red dot i had lying around.

Thanks to Craig (GrensVegter) and his amazing skills for helping me turn the idea in my head into an actual thing!

for all those wondering, its a CZ858 tactical 2, non restricted, with a "barrel shroud" and a custom gas block front sight :)

Update on page 3!

Do you have any details on the gas block front sight? I want to do this to my rifle.

I do approve ,very nice look ! I`m gazing over at my 858 as I look at this thread and think I may need to follow along on some mods.

AND TO THINK ......I was going to sell my precious `06 858 on the EE a few months ago.

Thanks for bringing this thread back, I might of missed it otherwise.

thanks for the kind words guys!

The Magpul MOE grip is totally worth all the effort of having to cut the factory grip retainer off, the rifle handles WAY nicer now!

I`d be interested in some info about the shroud ,who it`s made by and how it`s attached, rather than make my own.

Ahhhh....nevermind the first question, found the shroud at Wolverine, although I believe yours is a different make/model ? How was the install?

Thankyou

I used an mock suppressor, bored out one end of it so it would slip over the barrel, and then put it on backwards so it covers the barrel, got the can off some random airsoft site, just had to measure the length from the front of the gas block to the end of the barrel.

Cost varies depending on how much your smith would charge you to cut and tig weld the front sight onto the gas block, or if you want you can try to source an FSN01K gas block with the front sight built in, i had sourced out 3 originally, it was quite a lot of work digging the internets for them!

ended up getting them out of the Czech republic if i remember right... it was a few years ago tho.

easiest way to replicate this would be to cut and weld the front sight, as its cheaper and much less hassle than trying to source an FSN01K gas block
