I shot 198 cast bullets out of my G17 today.
It did't blow up and no leading at all. NONE.
No high pressure sign either.

After shoting:

After one pass of my bore snake:

As you can see the deposit on the first series of pictures was only powder deposite or lube. After cleaning I can't see any deposite in the barrel.

So moral of the story:
Do not listen to all the myth and misconception out there on the wild internet.

Go shooting and have fun!

I have over 48k rounds of lead out of my old Glock 19 factory barrel. Bullet fit is king. I often have 300 to 400 rounds between cleanings. No issues.

Colour me shocked. That is impossible, all this time I thought glocks were junk and only norinco 1911s are the quality firearms.

Yup, "Do not listen to all the myth and misconception out there on the wild internet. "

Read some joker did a meager sampling of "198 cast bullets out of my G17 today" and with that declared it is safe to shot lead in a polygonal barrel.

So moral of the story: DO NOT LISTEN to internet advice.

Looks like the OP discovered what most reloaders have know since forever. Nothing wrong with shooting lead out of a poly barrel, just make sure you clean it, and if your shoot a thousand rounds at a time just periodically check your barrel for leading.
