Installed the Tract Fire - 22 (4-12x40) on the CZ457 Provarmint and proceeded to sight in.
What ammo does your CZ 457 Pro Varmint like most?

Thanks in advance. Maybe I’ll have to sign up for one of the photo hosting sites…

Hi Dan - Nice looking rig there. I've got a 457 V-MTR and find so far SK-Rifle Match does well. I got a can of SK Magazine ( ca $100) to use for fouling, about half the cost of 'better ammo'. I got some Eley Club and Sport and Norma Sub-s that are OK but I've only shot 1 box of each so far. I had one box of Center-X that of course got the best groups - in the .1xx-2xx, but I get a few .2xx-3xx with the RM and even SK+.
If you can get some individual boxes of diff flavours, try a whole box of each to get an idea which your Pro likes best. Then go get a bunch. Tenda has some of the diff Eley-s but not much in SK-Lap. I've read that Norma Tac is pretty good but I don't have a store nearby (100 miles+) to try some.
Good luck,
Buck
PS - Try Postimage.org for pics. Its free and I've been using it for about 10 years w/o any F-ups like Photo-butt did.

Look at Cabelas for "the Rock Jr." and also "Lead Sled Solo". They're basic and somewhat adjustable. You might find one of them used on GP or EE. Much more stable than bipods. And watch for a Primos G-T, someone might not appreciate it. They weigh ca 15#, with square tube steel and cast front tripod. Also, look into some sort of bubble level for your scope. I've found it's an immense help on my 457, a 419 rail with a built-in level. I just started using one this Summer and have improved groups a bit - relatively cheap mod.
