So I stumpled across an MC-5D

We I went to the local gun store to buy some ammo... And took a look around to see what they hand in, and hidden away I saw a SKS-D for. $250!, The tag said SKS-D, the receiver said MC-5D.
Interesting things I have noticed about it...
Its barrel is 18.5" instead of 20, the bayonet lug has been removed, and the barrel is in very good condition..
The Bolt carrier has the striper clip ports on it still, which MC-5D don't have...

That all rounds correct for an MC-5D, shorter barrel length, bayonet removed, stock should be a pseudo monte carlo.

I'm not sure if the carrier was milled for stripper clips or not, these were assembled from parts. Does the carrier have a mismatched serial number?

The stock is a basic SKS stock, its a little bit slimmer then my Russian SKS stock.
The last 5 digits all appear to match. However the First digits in the serial numbers don't all match.. The carrier is 2###XX, and the receiver is 94###XX the trigger group and dust cover are ###XX. It also says C&A VA BCH VA on the receiver
I remember reading that alot of SKS-D and M's were converted into MC-5D's after the ban down in the US.

Pricing wise, from what I have seen other MC-5D's are running for around 500-600 dollars!

I would say the reciever and bolt are original to MC-5d. What kind of mag catch is on it.
There should be no reciever markings other than Norinco MC-5d, bolts came with stripper clip guide on them from factory
SKS M did not /sks -d had both stripper guide and no stripper guide
MC-5d means monte carlo 5rd detachable so it doesnt appear original
price is right, enjoy
