So I think I want a Skorpion....

My old thread got bumped. :)

So time for a update I guess. So I ended up trading for a Zastava M84 in .32acp. This is the Serbian copy of the Czech Skorpian. I have been able to get my .32 acp needs met by my local gun shop pretty regularly at around 23$ to now 26$ a box. Not all to bad I think. So after owning it for a couple of years I come to the conclusion the Skorpian is the most useless, nonsensical, pointless firearm that has ever been made.

However it is also my most stupidly fun gun I own, and it will one of the last I voluntarily give up. I put more rounds through this gun then almost any other in the last couple of years. My only complaint about it was the charging handle nubs was tearing up the skin on my fingers while charging it. I bought larger ones and that fixed that problem. I also removed the rate reducer to lighten the gun up a little bit.

I seriously recommended everyone to shoot one. You will see how dumb these guns are. But it might take you a few hundreds rounds first to find that out.

I made a list of all my guns and how much they cost and what I could possibly justify selling. My eyes fell on the Skorpion and I considered it. Right up until I remembered just how awesome and pointless that little subgun/rifle thing really is. My collection is fine the size it is.

Funny this thread popped up when it did -- I've been mulling over buying a CSA Skorpian in .32ACP and have been going back and forth in my head about it. One, as a large man it's a bit awkward to handle and is only a range toy. Two, it's a Skorpian...'nuff said.

As a average size guy I can barely just shoulder it. Im sure larger sized people would have alot of difficulty. Regardless, you don't need to be able to shoulder it to shoot it. If you get one, check out Corwin Arms to see if they still have the replacement larger charging handles. They are a excellent upgrade.

would this not be the same and we could get UZI rifles?

Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 11
63 The firearm of the design commonly known as the UZI pistol, and any variant or modified version of it, including the Micro-UZI pistol.

Can anyone shed some light on the apparent contradiction? did 98-462 get repealed or changed ? The gov't site says it's up to date. Are there 2 totally different things called "skorpion" ?

Basically the term "auto pistol" was its undoing, CSA markets this as a rifle, and built from scratch as a semi auto. In layman's terms this is basically comparing a military m16 (FA Prohib) to an AR 15 (SA Restricted)
