so i was lying in bed the other night and i started thinking that i would like an AR. but i have a beef with them.
1. although .223 is decently cheap to shoot its not as cheap as it could be.
2. its restricted, therefore not allowing me to shoot on my property.(this part i think i may be able to get over)
so i started thinking about building one, i can pick up a dpms lower for 300$ then im sure i can find the rest of the various parts and finally build one up to the way i want it. now the thinking really set in, why cant i build one in 7.62x39? buy an aftermarket barrel that is 7.62x39, buy a bolt. now im not knowledgeable to know enough about bolt refacing or anything like that, so is it possible to find a bolt made for a 7.62x39 round or is it possible to have one reworked from .223 to fit x39?
or is all of this not even feasible and its just easier and cheaper to have one in .223?
