So i went trap shooting with a 18"

That's true.Missing targets is no fun but it's part of the game.I don't want any new shooter to think that it's a neccessity to have a full blown trap gun to shoot trap with. The main thing is that you're having fun when you go shooting.Economics plays a big part in what a guy(or girl)shoots. Some people, especially younger people just getting started have limited resources to put towards leisure activities.I'm fortunate in that I'm closing in on 50,have a good job, have owned my home for years and I carry no debt(until next year when my oldest daughters goes to university:( )I'm able to afford the gun I want to shoot the game I want to play.It also helps that my wife and youngest daughter enjoy trapshooting as well and I can use the old line"Well you know what you guys really need.......";)
The thing is,use what you've got, have fun and KEEP SHOOTING.By the way,my pull trigger guns are ALWAYS available to new shooters or anyone who wants to borrow them.My release trigger guns stay in the rack when I'm not using them.
Grind 'em up!

Hi

I had a similar experience this past weekend shooting my Browning gold upland with it's 24 inch barrel. I shot 3 rounds of trap and my score was 16, 21, 21.

As long as I do 20 or better I am happy:D . Somebody looked at my gun after and asked if it was a 26 inch barrel. "No it's a 24!"
"Oh! you need at least a 26."

If I wanted a 26, I would of bought a 26.

I missed those few birds due to lack of experience, not because of a 24 inch pipe.
