After having my Restricted PAL for... almost 4 years now..
I'm finally going for the Ontario hunting license..

Anyone have any tips for me? Make sure I don't get tricked with the 3" shell in the 2 3/4" shotgun?

Tips?

Pass the damn test and find someone who has been out there hunting for 30 years longer than you. The test is to keep out idiots and criminals, there is no test what you can see and learn in the next 50 years of nature and hunting. Go forward and respect nature.

Good for you trans am. Id suggest buying a good shotgun, find youreself a decent dog, and hopefully make a few friends that can show you the ropes...:D

Best of luck to you. Hunting is the greatest sport.:)

I've got a Remington 870 Express, and a Golden Retriever...

He's 8 months old, and would probably want to play the whole time..

The hunter safety courses are very easy to pass. Pay attention and you will do well.

That being said, hunting is hard to learn alone. Try to find a mentor, bagging game is only a small part of the experience. Enjoy the time spent in the bush, savour every moment and welcome to the ranks. :)
