I got a .50 cal front stuffer, it has a 20 gauge bore diamter so... If I bought some different 20 gauge slugs I should be able to take the slug and sabot out of the shell and load it in my muzzleloader savvy? Had too much time on my hands while cleanin it with the 20 gauge bore brush. Let me know you opinions and experiences this is interesting stuff!

I don't understand why you are even wondering about it. You can already buy many different types of .50 Cal. "slugs" that will work perfectly well in the gun. Why bother with your "plan"?

lots of guys are using pistol bullets in there black powder rifles .pistol bullets have made leaps and bounds in the last few years and the offerings in the 4cal are unlimited .I just seen some utube video of some testing of the 45cal pistol bullets in a muzzy rifle and thy we impressive .Dutch

.20 gauge is .615 isn't it?

No idea

Sabot 50 Cal rounds are 44 or 45 cal bullets. With all the sabots on the market I'd just stick to ones designed for muzzleloaders

I am aware of this it's just curiousity.

I'd like too use partitions or Remington accutips, somethin lighter I can drive faster but count on too give me 2 holes to bleed outta for trackin sake. Say Dutch you hunt in some shotgun only control areas, you ever use any higher end slugs?

You're right about that! What is your point?

Just try somethin different or at least play with the idea.

Which of those 3 you like the best?

No:

10 gauge 0.775″
12 gauge 0.729″
16 gauge 0.662″
20 gauge 0.615″
28 gauge 0.550″
410 bore 0.410″

32 Gauge is .505

Thanks for that info, I was unaware.

I have had the best luck with fedarel power point 20g sabots and thy are the cheapest .I am hunting this coming week .and got some more slugs yesterday 20g hornady cost me 20$ for 5 slugs with tax and the fed cost me 10$ with tax .so the high end stuff cost a lot more .but my gun shoots the fed cheaper stuff just as well .Dutch
