So is it me or the scope?

Calum, please list the scopes that you are currently have trouble with.

I have the same pet peeve, like others have said I mount the scope further back and only buy scopes with eye relief of 4in or more. For me I ask that I have great relief in the bottom half of the zoom, the top end I can understand dealing with moving my eye closer. I myself do prefer any of the Leupolds as they seem to offer relief over 4in.

I wanted my smaller Leupold 1-4 x 20 VX-II to work but managed to only get my Bushnell Banner 6-18 x50 to work with some creative ring placement.

Methinks my little .243 handy rifle is not too handy under that beast of a scope, lol. But it seems to work regarding eye relief and clearing the hammer.

I also have a vintage Scope chief 3-9 x 40 IV (w command post) but it doesn't have the eye relief I need.

Yah I think I'll just have to buy yet another scope but this time pay closer attention to the eye relief stats. Thinner rings would probably help also. ;)

buy a redfield revolution 4-12x40

I'll keep an eye out for one thanks. :)

Sort of an update...
I was digging through some extra gun stuff and found the rings that came with the rifle and they seem to offer better scope height over the hammer while not being to high and the eye relief isn't too bad, so I have the Leu' back on... I suspect my rifle is half a pound lighter now lol. :D
