"So, Lou, how desperate are you to save an SMLE front handguard?"

Any tips on how to get a twist out of an SMLE front stock? Right ear of the sight protector nearly touches the right edge of the front sight base, I'd say about 1/16''-1/8'' clearance.

steambox, and some reverse twisting while it cools. that may do the trick.

nice save lou, maybe some brass threaded rod thru the guard now?

Nice Job once again!!!!! Looking forward to getting those rifles back together!

Can't remember off-hand if that is for the 1906 LSA or 1904 Enfield No.1 Mk 1? Hopefully, the damn cracks will be much easier jobs!!!

Keep up the great work!!!!

I'll have to get pictures posted of the rifles when they are back together to show you what all that wood is from! :)

Early SMLE front hand guard pre Mark III. It would be near impossible to find an original replacement spare. Well done. John

How can you tell if it is pre Mk III? unless of course it is yours to begin with.....

Lou, are there different profiles for the hand guards for the different Mks within the No 1 series?
i`m only asking because the one you repaired here is a little different than the original that i have.

Nice! I just got a 1915 sporter given to me from a friends Dad. Going to keep it that way though as a tribute to Canada's post-war hunting heritage!

That handguard you made for me is perfect! Still haven't gotten that Unsporterized mock Mk III sniper out to the range yet. Hope to this summer!

Cheers,

Ian
