Well I've been reading through a lot of the info on here and trying my hand at the search function but I must admit that I'm becoming a bit overwhelmed. So here's my dilemma.
I've got a .308 bolt action (remington 700 if that makes any difference) that I think I'd like to try my hand at doing handloads for. Wouldn't be a huge quantity just enough that I can brag every now and again and say that I can hit a target at 500 yds (I know others can shoot much farther but so far my long distance shooting accomplishments are limited to crumpling paper and hitting the trash can across the room) So maybe a couple hundred rounds tops. I'd like to buy cheaper ammo and just plink around to get the brass. Maybe I can do the 500 yards with the cheap ammo I really don't know but either way it never hurts to get better. Plus the more reading I do the more interested I become in taking it up as a hobby.
So I guess my question is what type of turret press and tooling should I get? I've seen way too many names on here and guys who seem to either hate or love what they have so it's a bit discouraging to try and pick. That's why I'm trying to give as much info as possible. I figure a turret press is what I should get, though I could be wrong, to save a little bit of time. I'd only be reloading small amounts one caliber so I don't need a press that has to the ability to switch heads easy or a progressive. Anyway thanks for all your help!
