So the general consensus is the Vanguard S2 is the best of the budget rifles ?

I had a look at a Vanguard 2 Varmint in .223" today at wholesale sports that looks pretty nice. It's not as budget friendly at $900, but it has a heavier barrel (.740" at the muzzle), and the gray stock with darker grip panels. I've been toying with the idea of a heavyish barrel .223 for a while, might have to give this one a bit more though. I wonder what the barrel twist would be? Then while looking for more info on it, I found a Vanguard 2 range certified TRR that has a laminated stock with beavertail for end and aluminum bedding for $1250. It's definitely a nicer looking gun. It's still half the price of the Sako 85 Varmint that my brother has been talking about.
