SO,.to celebrate the downsizing of the firearms registry---?

I will celebrate the success of the bill to scrap the long gun registry by acquiring:

  • a nice non restricted firearm

    Votes: 61 50.0%

  • a nice restricted firearm

    Votes: 19 15.6%

  • a bunch of ammo and reloading components

    Votes: 7 5.7%

  • a cat sized donair/gyro, and an exotic pole dance.

    Votes: 35 28.7%

I'm wary of the division that now splits long gun and hand gun owners. Maybe being pessimistic, but I am concerned we will not have the support of long gun owners when legislation is proposed to ban all hand guns.

exactly the way I see it. You can already feel it, even in CGN
 
Why worry? I've been a long gun owner for 38 years. In that period a ton of stuff has come down the pike bashing us about. Name one significant handgun thing. I can think of about 4 for long guns:airguns into firearms, fac, safe storage, the registry. I guess one could add crossbows. What has changed from an already tragically bad situation in handguns in that period?

I'd love to own handguns, but I have never been able to get passed the BS level required for it.

Well the prohib restrictions for barrel length come to mind for one. Restrictions on mag capacity is another. The caliber prohib list is yet a third. You asked for one, well there are three. None makes any sense although "if it saves one life. :rolleyes:"

Some of the "bad" things about handguns have been already mentioned in the Committee hearings to ban the LGR. Quite a few of the speakers on both sides were trying to alleviate the fears of the long-gun hoplophobes by stressing the fact that criminals prefer and use handguns.

Only Randy Kuntz (Our CGN Hero of the decade) opened a window towards handgun-registry scrapping.

Add to that (which allow you to take your handgun across the Province, overnight if need be, as long as you end up at a CFO-approved range, but won't allow you to take your broken (non-operational) handgun to your neighborhood gunsmith.)

Don't forget the extra locks............

Yes and the handgun registry is sure effective in preventing criminals from getting handguns. Gives me no end to peace of mind.:rolleyes: That is certainly worth spending $30MM a year to retain the registration of them. Why we register $45K dollar cars so why not $1K handguns? There just is no end of arguments to maintain the registry. Man I feel safer already just thinking about our good folks at the CFO's office. Speaking of which my ATT expires at the end of December.

Here in BC we get to go to our gunsmiths. Says so on my LATT .
