Moved to sk from ab about 7 yrs ago. With helping son start a farm from scratch on a limited budget really just haven't had time. Always stuff needs be done.
Farm is son's now entirely, been slowly stepping out of the pic, now it's his, and I'm done.(prob more importantly I'm out of his way, lol) (wife's been htg deer last couple yrs and I've done some upland/migratory, but simply haven't had time for ungulate's).

Sk's draw system impo pales to ab's, however there are places you can hunt on a gen tag. Have started researching, next summer (when we Used to be haying) will take a 3 or 4 day drive, do some spotting with rm maps in hand, make some contacts and plan for next fall. Maybe even a little fishing.

Pretty excited.

To put things in perspective, been here at least 6 yrs and haven't even bolted down my press on the reloading bench. Doing that tomorrow.

September is already planned, heading back up to my Uncles moose outfit in wmu 17. October to December is up in the air if I finally pick up a bow like I've been talking myself into now for a while. Weekend of rifle deer in 60 and week of shotgun December in 85. My Parents are discussing buying a retirement acreage in Grey county where extra tags are rather easy to get, I'd drop the change on that bow the following day

My last three years have been planning and building. Come spring my cabin should be to the point where we can do long stays.

Always have bear, wolf, coyote, deer, moose, migratory, small game tags.

Looking at getting my trapper license too

Maybe do some scouting in spring to see if any turkeys are anywhere near my acreage.

I am planning the next year's hunt during the current year!
I am always planning and talking to landowners etc....
We are planning a turkey hunt and a hog hunt right now in fact.LOL

I live in Sk. but I have not hunted for the last four years. I am already planning for next fall. Grouse and deer can be had on a general tag around here and that is fine with me. When summer hits I will scout out my old spots and maybe look for some new ones. Starting to get pumped already. Heck I may even get the old compound bow out and start practicing again.

The only down note s it will be a solo venture as my old hunting buddies have passed away. ( one of the reasons I stopped)

My hunting plans are made for 2022-2024... I might squeeze in something more if an opportunity arises, but the hunting schedule is pretty tight.

Sept of 2022, bow hunting on my own land for deer, first 14 days of October, elk, moose and deer northwest of Grande Prairie, Alta (Tikka T3X, stainless, laminate 300 Win Mag on order), last part of October (bow) and all of November (rifle) back to my own property for deer. Same for 2023.
I’m also going to set up some spring bear hunting opportunities for a couple of friends on my property.

January to July is when I plan my fall, with a break for Spring Bear season in there. I apply for draws and points in Saskatchewan, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. Then there's always back-up OTC options at home in Sask.

planning for the next year bison hunting january february 2022 so coming soon, fall 2022 maybe a fly out in the yukon and in 2023 goal for a chamois in france ...

I'm planing on finishing my tower blind for deer hunting on my land for 2022. Thought I would have finished the blind in 2021 but unfortunately we had a snow storm and put a halt on plans to finish the project.

Coyote hunting now that deer season is done. Then turkey hunting and hopefully a spring bear hunt. My daughter will be 4 this coming fall so plenty of squirrel and dove hunting with her by my side hopefully.

Hopefully when I get back home we will go for a few bison hunts! Maybe a bear hunt in the spring when the green starts showing up and then I would like to go back for caribou in the mountains with my daughter and wife in august!! After that is the usual moose hunt canoe trip somewhere up here!!

Got a spring bear location picked out already. Once the snow melts I'll get out there and make a blind and get some baits ready. The wife wants to tag her first bear this year and I'll take a fall bear, probably both in the same spot.
Buddy of mine is probably going to get a moose tag in the fall as well so I'll probably spend a week or two at his cottage and hopefully get some moose steaks.
Grouse hunting just ended a few days ago, but rabbits still open so once we see some mild weather I might take the dog out and see if we can bag a couple for a nice stew.
I'm one of the lucky few that can say they only need to drive 10-20 minutes to hunt small and large game.

Going to be a busy year, I can't wait. Going to hit up a few trout lakes just down the road from the bear bait and kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

With 18 family members, and close friends that all hunt, we started the ok who’s doing what draw at what time, so we don’t overcrowd one season.

That said! I am planning ahead as my holiday submittal with work has to be in.
