So we started to relaod .223 today

if it were a lee die. id say pop the collete off the depriming pin, toss it in a vice with rubber jawws, and give the depriming pin a couple taps with a brass hammer (wont dmg it (as much)) then when its out. pop the depriming pin in the rubber jaws, and give the case a yank with a pair of vice grips.

Same place you get the decapping pins. A RCBS stuck case remover is just a collar, drill bit, 1/4" tap and and allen wrench. Just out of curiousity did you wreck the decapping stem, the pin, the expander ball or all three? The idea is to loosen off the decapping rod and move it up in the case to make room to drill it out before you break anything. Then you slip it all out the bottom and do whatever you need to do to get the assembly out of the case. I usually just cut the base of the case with a hacksaw.

It sounds like you have a oversized chamber in the rifle, I've had a few of them. When things are normal, you should be able to size .223 with little more than the weight of your arm on the lever, and pull out just about as easy. It is possible to get a loose chamber tight die combination that will stick the occasional case even if you do everything right. If you feel anything like excess resistance going in, stop and relube the case before you stick it. There's enough crap barrels out there to try your patience, believe me.

yea we managed to demolish all 3 parts:mad:, i heading down to the relaodig room now to attempt the tap and bolt method....;)

:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

THE CASE IS OUT!!!!!!!!!!

drilled and taped the case and i was able to tunr it right outta there thank you to all who provided info on this improvised method i will be sure to pick up a proper case remover ASAP....

so i concluded that we need all 3 parts of the decapping pin wheres the best place to order from?;)....

i've been in this situation- after you get the case out, take a TUBING CUTTER to the case to get the "collet" - cut the case roughly in half- - as far as the decapper goes, i've modified FINISHING NAILS- grind the point down, take off the head, - slides right in- that will do until you can get your hands on some real ones- the diff is the heat treat- as far as the shft goes, that you have to get from somewhere maybe factory

the very reason i switched to lee along with the price

we usually use all lee stuff but they didnt have lee dies in stock....

and t-star....we cant use a finishing nail we demolished the entire pin like the threaded rod part above as well and bending the pin....hit it full force with a 2x4:cool:....
