So what ever happened to PPC ?

BRRC runs their PPC league every Sunday evening...

I used to shoot A LOT of PPC, but as 4n2to said... Other games have taken over my interests.

One reason it may be fading in popularity is the lack of new blood getting into the sport.
I mean... If you were to show a new shooter a PPC match and then show them an IPSC or or other "action" game which one do you think they'll be more interested in..?

It died a natural death of irrelevance. Even more impractical than IPSC.
Not sure how it died ?.......but I must disagree ! Nothing is more impractical then IPSC. I used to like playing the old wheel gun games before everyone stated to run around with race guns and pretending to be SWATT became popular........

Burlington ?

PPC is too boring for modern/younger shooters, it is barely one step away from bullseye shooting especially when compared to any of the action shooting popular now.

X2

I think it's primarily because of lack of "leadership". Like in the supposed "good old days" 10% of the people do 90% of the work. Those 10% have less time and more distractions now.

What's telling are the number of people who think it would be a great idea for someone else to set up, and practically no-one asking how to get it started.

I think that PPC, Silhouette and Bullseye would attract a lot of shooters, even as a "Gateway" sport into IPSC for example.

Paper targets got thicker and the rounds no longer penetrated, impossible to score.

LOL pretty funny that. The "Duty" match is supposedly shot with full power loads, but ya, the regular match can feature some pretty popcorny style loadings. Sometimes if you watch close you can see the boolits fly.
Still a good way to unload 150 rounds in one match. When shooting in a full set of match's you can shoot possibly 630 rounds in a day.
