So What Now? Help.... mistake shell missplaced on top of holder into size die

So I think I may have accidentally placed the 9mm shell above the shell holder instead of in the insert accidentally on this one. That or it slipped out somehow. Anyway it is sure stuck in there. Tried what I could to pull it out as well as a tap and rubber mallot from the top with the pin out. What would the experts or fellow "butchers" as my high school shop teacher said recommend next?

For the record this is a 9mm Lee decapping and resizing die...….with a 9mm casing rather stuck in it. it was pre-sprayed with a fair amount of One Shot in an ice cream container and shaken with its fellows prior to getting stuck in this well predicament lol.

Can you put it into the press, throw in a wooden dowel in the top small enough to fit in the 9mm case but large enough to not go through the primer pocket or splinter when you hit it, and smack it out with a hammer
 
Forster also makes a stuck case removal tool. I have both the Forster and RCBS. They both have their advantages. The Forster has a better chance of saving your case. As for your situation, the case is already destroyed, the RCBS will do fine.
 
Lee dies hold the decapping rod in a collet at the top of the die body.This can be loosend and the decapping rod used to tap the stuck case out. As an alternative, the collet and rod can be removed, then use a small bolt or rod to tap out the offending case. Hope this helps you out....catnip.
 
its a 9mm the case is of little value. I'd prefer not to have to ruin the die by accident. Though given that I have done this once now. I could foreseeably do it again I may as well get advice on how to fix my mistakes. The dowl/tap idea, sound fair now to crack out the taps and just hammer away harder in the press.

Place a socket over the brass with the attachment hole furthest away from the brass. Drill a small hole through primer pocket then take a lag screw with a washer on it and start to thread it into the hole as it tightens it will pull the brass out.A padded vice may be needed.

This^^^^^, or if you can, drill and tap the primer hole for a bolt and washer and use the socket for a support/spacer.
 
If it's a lubed 9mm, its likely not too bound up....you can probably just pull the decapping pin and find a suitable "punch" to tap the offender out.
 
I found out the hard way
now I always use a lube on 9 mm
deprime with lube...... clean and then do the full progressive thing

if some one is using major 9mm the chances of you pulling off the rim is very High if you pick up one of there brass
