So what purchases are on the agenda for 2010? :)

I think a Savage 12 BTCSS in .223 is in order to replace my heavily shot Ruger M77 target model that is racking up the thousands of rounds. Rather than re-barrel I am leaning towards replacement.
I am also really interested in a Cooper chambered in 17 Fireball.

We'll see what the bonus situation looks like in the new year.

I have 4 that I would like, although only 3 are realistic at this point.

- 1st priority -- buy back my Model 99 300 Savage that I foolishly sold 3 years ago
- Marlin XLR in 308 Marlin Express
- Henry Octagon Lever in 22WMR
- a 10 ga semi for ducks and geese - preferrably a Browning Gold but I guess a Remington SP-10 would do in a pinch

To help finance some of these, I may be moving a few others that I have -- most likely my Marlin Model 25MN bolt action in 22WMR and my Browning BPR in 30-06 with Burris FF II in 3-9x40 (only has 20 rounds through it).

im actually at a point where i dont really need anything (hell, who am i kidding, i reached that point after i bought my first rifle and shotgun).

id like to pick up another barrel for my .308 Savage this year since its pretty redundant (i have at least 5 .308s). perhaps .260 Rem? either that or have the factory barrel cut and recrowned and some sights installed.

i have a stainless Remington 700 .25-06 in an HS Precision stock that could use an upgrade to a premium heavy barrel. keep it in .25-06 or....?

id also like to buy a full wood Enfield with a nice bore but itll have to wait a month or so till i recover from all the Christmas spending. i know jack about Enfields so i need to find an expert on them and buy them a case of beer or a nice bottle of single malt and ask them to help me find one :)

and id like to buy a Henry mini-bolt and fabricate my own skeletonized aluminum takedown stock for it and make it into a proper bolt-action survival/backpacking gun.

thats about it... but im sure ill think of other projects :)

Thoughts for 2010....

Nothing on the radar at the moment.

We'll see what turns up, though....

NAA.

Looks like I have added to my list already I now have a 10" 45 Colt Contender barrel coming and I just ordered a 14" Contender barrel also in 45 Colt and I'm now looking for a 410 or 28 gauge Contender shotgun barrel.

looking for a couple .45 ruger vaqueros. if i get them, i need a .45 rifle to go with. also planning on a 7x57 ruger #1 rsi, and a maybe a couple other #1 rugers if i find the right ones. already bought another 1-s 45-70 the other day. figured i'd better have two. would also like to find a nice old sxs 20 gauge. probably come up with a few others as the year goes on. i get distracted by all kinds of shiny things.

Already got mine a few days ago. Savage 116fcss in 270 Win with the accustock and trigger. That's it for me as I have a big move coming this year. Maybe the proposed 303 #1 if I find some $$ and the config is right.

MsMillan A5 stock and HS or ATRS bottom metal for my 300rum
338 edge barrel and muzzle break (Defensive Edge?) for my Savge LRPV
Rail and rings for Savage
NXS5.5-22 NP1r w/Zero stop
VX3 4.5-14LR
New front rest
New chrony...last one shot by a "friend", but at least the guy paid me for it...

And an extra job to pay for it all...

2010 is going to start with me selling a couple .303's, a Baikal shotgun and a Destroyer carbine that are all either surplus to my needs, don't get enough trigger time or no longer meet my needs.

Probably going to get a .22 WMR before gopher season begins and wouldn't mind a stainless .357 or .44 lever as a go-anywhere rifle. Might build an AR thing summer.

Myself I have been selling and buying so many rifles this year that the only thing that comes to mind that I still want is and I have been posting on the EE for a long time now that I am looking for 12" or longer s/s T/C Contender barrels.

A 12" barrel will give me an overall length of 26 3/4" and it is legal to hunt with a barrel 12" or longer here in BC.

I'm thinking of ordering a stainless synthetic G2 Contender carbine with 16.5" or 18.25" .357 magnum barrel, iron sights and 2.5x Leupold Ultralight scope. The extra four inches of barrel are worth being able to take state-side without hassle. Might order a .22 and a .30-30 barrel in the same configuration (16.5", iron sights, drilled and tapped).

Basically looking for a nice compact backpack rifle, something that will have a little punch and some power options. I can carry both .38 specials and .357 magnum loads and just pop in what I need, when I need it.

Since I'm a newbie the list is fairly long.
cz858 and Russian SKS
Tokarev TT33
Walther P38
Bolt action child size .22
cz452 FS
some sort of black rifle .22 dpending on what is approved as non-res.

I'll be looking for Winchesters, an 1890, a model 61, 92's, 94's and Old Marlin lever guns. But, later this year I'm going to try to find a Model 71 deluxe with the long tang. Before I can get that, I'll have to vastly increase my "gun fund" or trade a lot for it.
