For me it was a husqvarna 1907, it was cheap and my friends dad had one, seemed like a good idea, I shot it once before selling it.

I don't regret getting the 40. Ammo cost is really not that extravagant. (the difference between 9 and 40 is less than 15% from CanadianBDX in volume). And now standard/major is an option.
