First gun Type 54, chinese Tokarev.
Second was Ruger P944 but I don't shoot it anymore because of extractor problems.
But my third and first quality gun was Beretta M9, that gun is amazing 4K through the pipe of factory and reloads it shoots everything witthout single FTE or FTF. Incredible, incredible gun and accurate.

But T54 is great plinker and price of ammo is same like reloading 9mm except I don't have to collect shells.

My first pistol was a BIG MISTAKE.

Bought a Norinco 1911 Sport, tuned from Armco. Now every time I pick up another pistol and pull the trigger, I end up putting it right back down and reaching for my cheap Chinese hole-puncher. Gunnar's work has spoiled me.

.45 may not be for beginners, but I can keep pie-plate accuracy at 10 yards which is plenty good for "fun" shooting. Slightly better if I take my time or use a rest. Sure is a good thing that 1911's come in .22 and 9mm, since I have a feeling they will be joining my Nork in the safe shortly.

First handgun I ever owned (much to the dismay of many who post in the "what 1st pistol should I buy" threads :p, was a 1911 .45acp... the only pistol a man/women will ever need.

I lost my virginity to a SIG X-five just two years ago. This was quickly followed by a S&W Performance Center V-Comp .357. The family would grow to four including another SIG and finally a custom 1911. I'm told I have enough guns. Go figure :)

I have a similar N-frame, but importantly, the same Karl Nill grips.

They certainly improve the comfort and accuracy for bulls-eye, over the comparatively poorly designed S&W factory grips.

I agree. Those people at Nill know their stuff. The grips are so accurately made that you can hardly see the joints. I do like those grips with light HBWC ammo but they don't let me get high enough when shooting full loads at speed. I have tried that gun in IPSC and the Steel Challenge and for those I use grips by Jerry Miceluk. He also knows a thing or two about grips and how to handle that level of handgun quickly. With his grips I can get much higher and the result is better recoil control and accuracy when shooting fast.

When shooting a 100 or so .357 rounds, I have a set of rubber Hogues that I modified to get rid of the finger grooves that don't suit my hand.
