So, what's the scoop on Yildiz?

I don't know a whole ton about them, other than that they are Turkish and build low-priced shotguns.

I really want to get my hands on a SxS 12 gauge for running clays with my friends. Unfortunately my budget just can't incorporate one of the more expensive, beautiful s x s kicking around in a well-known name.

Anybody on here own one, or have experience with them? Another point of interest - last I checked the only model offering ejectors was the 20 gauge. Any word on if this is going to be something we'll see on 12 gauges soon, or is something that's already around on specific models and I'm just behind the times?

They're light. Won't take the beating of competition level shooting but for informal clays a very nice gun. Fit and finish is nice for the price as well

Others to look at are the cz lineup. Ring neck and bobwhite.

Baikal makes affordable sxs guns. Fit and finish is not the greatest but the guns are very well built

They're good for occasional clays or upland bird hunting. If you want to shoot clays every week or to compete, better go with "B" o/u guns -- Beretta, Browning since they will take the appropriate beating without breaking for a long time. Also parts are readily available.

Thanks for the input, guys. I'm still making up my mind on what to get for a sort-of-regular-use O/U or SxS (I'm partial to SxS), but in the meantime I just happened to catch someone looking to sell an old cooey 84 and he passed it off to me for 50 bones. So I'll have some sort of break action shotgun to mess around with while I'm making up my mind.

Now to get a recoil pad lol.
