Was at the range today, a fellow there was shooting a Sako A7 300WSM and at the end of the shooting, he threw his brass in the trash barrel, I asked him if he was reloading and he said no, he didn't have time! I asked if I could take it and he said go ahead, and said it was factory ammo. So I picked it up, as someone could use it being 1X fired. well I put it threw the brass tumbler and this is what I found, out of 20 rounds. Winchester Suprreme 150gr E-Tip Whats up? Thanks.

Brittle brass. Necks not annealed sufficiently from the factory. FWIW, I hate nickle plated brass anyway. Eagleye.

Looks like your name, bad brass. Probably too brittle or not properly annealed.

Had the same thing happen with some Federal 25-06 brass a few years back. One of the reasons you inspect as you go. - dan

I picked up some fired Speer(Federal) 30-06 nickle plated brass in those expensive 5-packs at the range. When I got home I weighted them,guess what, they had that same weight range as...... Remington.

It's the bullets that make those 5-packs expensive, not the nickel brass.
