I have been stuck on collecting these things for a number of years now.For some reason I have been enamored with the 91/30, in particular sniper variants. ...what's yours?

M44 carbines. Hands down my favorite type of Mosin. Just so small and packing the punch. Add on the bayonet and it's like a little bulldog.

I'm stuck with imperial era M91 model and not even planning venturing into soviet or finnish mosin worlds. I even sold scarce original configuration dragoon as it was made in 1926 and did not fit into my collection. And I don't have imperial dragoon yet.

Im stuck on collecting all variants, ...Finnish mosins,.Finn built rifles are the best made...other than the Polish M44 variant..They are all unique and have a story to tell....

A hex is nice but I recently picked up a 1940 (pre-war) round receiver Izzy... and it's pretty nice too !!!

Can't wait to see how it shoots !!!

i just got a 1942 Izzy Mosin, looking at 762x54r.net, the brass fittings in the sling holes are in the " pre-war" category, i am unsure or what that means, and also my stock doesnt seem to have a serial number that i can find, only a backwards R near the large ring.. Any Mosin experts know what this could mean. Also, when i got the rifle home i noticed what appears to be a Russian Star i guess kind of staind into the stock or maybe carved at one point and stained and then refurbed or whatever, it's pretty neat. I like the M44 shorty's but the big ole 91/30 has enamoured me as well. Nice rifle for the cash i spent.

Spotagwan..mosins usually do not have serial numbers on the stock..other than Chinese type 53's-some do and some don't. ...others may have arabic numbers painted on the stock, from somewhere in the middle east....I have an M1938 so marked..
Btw..anyone have a Czech marked M91/38 conversion ?

Yeah..pre war hex recievers are nice...Tula in particular. .

x2 on this. I have a 1931 Tula hex and love the big girl.

I collect 1920's ex dragoon 91/30s and thus own a trio of them. They are real jems IMO.

1926, 27, 28...

Bought a 91/30 1944 sniper first.. happend across an old beater of a mosin with some rust on it and crap in the bore that looked odd to me on cosignment at a store in moncton asking 475. Offered them 100 heard back a few months later and got it for 150. Shes now my favorite. Turned out it looked odd because it was a finnish m91 built on a 1894 receiver from Châtellerault france.. with a 1927 tikka stepped barrel. Out shoots the 91/30 all day. Cleaned up real well too

Congrats on the Finn M91...they are fine rifles...BTW I just got a Tula action-Hex reciever dated 1943...it's the latest year I have seen for a hex 91/30...anyone else have one dated '43 or later ?

The barrel may be stamped 43, but check the date under the tang which will reveal how old the action is.
