Fly in moose hunt during the hot part of the rut. We'll sling a quad in but with at least 4 tags it'll be mostly on foot. Hopefully it gets cold enough for the big guys to be moving.

Good luck on your backpack trip, sounds pretty intense.

Fly-in moose hunt to north eastern Manitoba at the end of September, deer hunt in central Minnesota in Nov., and a late, late season elk hunt in the Riding Mountain area in mid January(brrrrr!).

Less than two weeks; wife and I, a week long boreal bear/WT deer hunt(deer for wife, attempt at calling in bear for me), followed by another week of elk/mule deer further SW.
Son will be up haphazardly as he can. Started packing the trailer yesterday.

Oh, and grayling fishing in elk country, too! :)

My son located a huge grizzly last weekend so next weekend we're going to go and see if we can get a crosshair on him. I have the only grizzly tag left in the family so guess who's pullin' the trigger on this big boy. I'm in a quandry though, as I can't decide between my 9.3X300 Win, my 340 Wby or my 375 H+H, or just my old faithful 300 Wby with 200 gn accubonds. My .470 NE double will be going along in case he doesn't succum immediately and gets out of sight and I have to follow him up. Not very likely but I'm going to fetch it along anyway.

25th next month it's off to the Kalahari for lion and then up to Congo for bongo, red forest buff, forest sitatunga and blue duiker and maybe a red forest hog...........or anything else that walks by, for that matter!!

does that mean the last grizzly your family is able to get or just this year? If its the last one for your family I would recomend you take the old faithfull 300 if you think it would mean the most to you.

Have fun on your trip !

We can harvest a grizzly every 3 years and we can buy a tag every year after the 3 if we don't harvest one. My son shot a nice bear last spring so he has another year and a half to wait and his girlfriend shot a small grizzly this spring so she has 3 years to go. I however haven't shot a grizzly for years, haven't found the one I want yet, so I can buy a tag every year until I shoot one.
