So when are the Tikka T3's going on sale in anticipation of the T3x's ??? (!)

I get myself a tikka T3 lite in 223 and placed it in Lss chassis which I paint with KG gun Kote in OD .I enjoy shooting it so much, still working on the right load for it ,can you guys share with your best load/bullet combination for 1in8 twist ?. I already leave the range in a good mood !
that is why I like Tikka it makes you happy !

congrats Kurgan ! it looks great in this stock and it is a nice set up too. did you give it a try yet ?

Nope... Sunday... Father's Day gift to myself... me-range-100-rounds. It will shoot like they all do... sub-MOA. My other Battue in 30-06 (which I parted-out and sold), shot well under MOA... 'clover leafs'.

BTW, nice rig you built... I can see you're also a Tikka fan. :)

Had my T3 270Win to the range this morning. New rifle, first trip out with a load slapped together for scope sighting.

The 5 shot 0.643" was the first group ever from this rifle. Same load all three groups. Very pleased! :)

That is a great gift ! It will be a nice day to shoot tomorrow
Have fun.
I will be going next week to Silverale hope it will be a nice day too.

I notice that not all Tikka rifles are available in Canada, such as the Tikka's in 223 with 20" barrels or the Battue which is usually only available in 308 or 3006.

Very good shooting, both ZUKA and Supercub! I would be pleased as well. I expect similar results. Bought a few boxes of Prvi 150 gr FMJ, which my last 30-06 Battue loved. I am a big fan of Prvi commercial ammo. Half my time will be spent at 25 yards using the sights, the other half at 50 yards with my 1.25-4x20 VXR scope.

rhino62; for a 20" Battue and open sights, a larger calibre makes more sense for moving game. I also much prefer long action non-magnum calibres, and if they bring in a 6.5x55, 7x57, 8x57, or 7x64 Battue, I'd probably buy two more. 30-06 is about perfect for my current needs. I have a stunning custom being built on a small-ring FN M98 commercial action, 21" barrel and chambered in 6.5x55. So, if I buy another Battue, I think 7x57 or 7x64 would fit the bill.

I was actually thinking of the Battue being available in 9.3x62 and my comment re the 223 was more about the compact model, also if you look at the Tikka catalog for the T3 Lite it lists barrel lengths of 570 (22 inches) and 510 (20 inches). The Latter are the MT (Mountain?) series rifles available in different calibers. These rifles are not imported into Canada unfortunately according to the Stoeger web site showing available models.

any chance you checked how much more or less it weighed (lss vs factory stock) ?

9.3x62 would be very nice indeed!

Lately, I've been leaning more and more towards 7x64. I've heard a lot of praise over this calibre. Be nice to have a Battue chambered for it.

BTW, I called Stoeger a few weeks ago inquiring about the new T3x Battues...

I've had some rather p|ss poor customer service from them over the years, but the guy I spoke with was quite sensible and helpful. He told me that there's really no market for most "specialty" Tikka's in Canada, even Battues. He told me that the majority of the Battue market in Canada, for example, is the East coast, which makes sense to me (close-in shooting, bush, forest work). The reality is that they won't bring in any Euro-calibres for the Battue. So, 7x64 and 9.3x62 and such will only be a pipe dream.

I guess the only possibility is to try and get one from the States via Prophet River. I also find this comment interesting, since they bring in the compact in all calibers except 223 and I expect the reason for that is because it is available in both a 1 in 12 twist and a 1 in 8 twist and they do not want the bother of trying to determine which will sell! There seems to be a shortage of available Tikka 223's and I expect most people want them with a 1 in 8 twist
