SO who ordered a Dominion Arms 870 Grizzly

Can anyone tell me more about Dominion arms? Is there a website I can view to get more info?

Norinco doesn't actually manufacture anything and as I understand it, the Chinese company that supplies Norinco with their 870 clone is the same company making these shotguns. The factory producing them doesn't seem interested in establishing their own brand - they'll happily label these shotguns Remington if and when Remington asks them to. I expect Dominion Arms is probably the name of the export "company".

I haven't ordered one yet - I'm trying to exercise self-control. I'm pretty sure it's a losing battle though. :D

wrong
these are not norinco rebranded guns
bbb

i ordered one.
an 870 barrel is going to cost you ~$200, shipping would cost you ~$20, so you are paying like $70 for an 870 clone. originally i was planning on looking for a used wingmaster and swapping the 12.5" barrel onto it, then re-registering, but nah - im just going to keep the gun as it is.

CanAm said they are fully compatible with 870 parts, so in the worst case scenario even if the gun ends up having FTF/FTE issues, you can just replace the parts for cheap and widely available 870 ones and away you go. CanAm am i correct in assuming this means you could, potentially, swap all the guts of an 870 into the DA Grizzly?

im not waiting for the 8.5" because i think the 12.5" would be a more useful barrel length that retains more functionality and actually lets most of the powder burn, at the cost of a few inches of length. you could also swap in different barrels and retain all the versatility of a full fledged 870. ill probably pick up an 8.5" when they get them in stock though.... but in the meantime a fish in the hand is worth two in the sea :)

i dont think the 12.5s or 8.5s are going to be reclassified as they are, with a full stock.

i intend to stick to relatively 'tame' loads like 2 3/4" buckshot or standard 2 3/4" brennekes. i dont think with the stock on it will be much worse than a regular full-sized 870, its not going to be that much lighter. receiver and stock all weigh the same, just the weight of the 6-16" of barrel you are losing.

**edit
just saw that:
I will post pics of my undies after I shoot some 00 3" shells out of the 12.5" barrel.

its just going to be an 870 minus a pound or so for the chopped barrel. i dont think itll be that bad at all. if you can normally handle the 3" mag loads from a normal length gun i dont see them being a problem in the 12.5 unless you are crazy enough to shoot it with a pistol grip.

12.5" is gonna kick like a #####... 8.5" would be a bit scarey to shoot?

The 12.5 and even the 8.5" Dlask/870 guns don't kick a whole lot more than the longer guns that I can feel (although Colin calls me the 'recoil mutant'), certainly nothing to rattle your fillings or break teeth. I won't bother with 3" rounds unless I want a bigger fireball out of the muzzle since the powder isn't all burning.

I have video shooting the 12.5" and 8.5" s I will try to find and post it
Cheers
