SO who ordered a Dominion Arms 870 Grizzly

Guys, it's legal now. From the original thread about these shotguns, this I learned. There is a court battle going on between Dlask and the gov't that will determine if this modification becomes illegal. For now it is legal but it could change. Huray if it doesn't. Until then enjoy :) .

one question, what is the best way to remove the mag cap?
i tried a large screwdriver in the cross slots, but she's quite snug and my screwdriver slipped before budging.

Push down with flat blade screwdriver and do 1/4 turn. The plastic cap will now pop out freely as will the mag spring. Be careful to keep hand on it so it don't hit you in the eye! Puttin it back is reverse. The plug has two little ears on it that fit into slots, 1/4 turn and release and it should be locked in.

This is how it was explained to me by an old gun guy. To follow the letter of the law...

1) Once you install the pistol grip, you (legally) have 28 DAYS to inform your CFO that the firearm has been "MODIFIED". It would then be reclassified as a "RESTRICTED" firearm, same as a handgun.

2) If you re-install the original butt stock on DAY 27, you remain (legally) NON-RESTRICTED and the clock gets set back to ZERO.

My advice is DO NOT lose the standard butt stock! ;)

This is the law, stupid as it may seem. You now know what you have to do to remain "unrestricted & legal".

Any pistol type grip will not get you to 26". Once you get below 26" you have modifed the firearm and it is technically restricted. Once made to be over 26", it becomes a normal unrestricted long gun.

One thing I meant to post, is that the Grizzly is ILLEGAL in the land of the free (U.S.A.)

Shotguns must have a barrel length of at least 18 inches and an overall length not less than 28 inches.

So, you can not bring this shotgun with you to the U.S. for varmint protection/hunting. This raises more of a stink than a handgun. LOL
I guess I will limit myself to my 1911. ;)

So even tho I rejoiced that the Grizz is NOT marked "Made in China", it's length prohibits its entry to the States.
 
Just got notified that a package has arrived for me at home. Since the only thing I'm expecting now is the 870 Grizz...that must be it!

Canada Post Screwed Up with my gun

Hope you guys are enjoying your new guns. CanAm got mine shipped out really quickly and mine arrived at my local Post office on Monday BUT was shipped back to Vancouver because of 'insufficient postage' yesterday :( WTF?
Canam had it posted and marked just like the rest of them so that means that CP didn't properly affix postage once they had it in their plant. Now I am looking at another week for it to reach Canam and get back to me.....and since I have the patience of a hamster this is killing me!!! ARRGGHH!!

I just put a B-square 870 saddle onto my Griz 870, it's perfect!

It's a very tight fit so no move on the saddle at all. Virtually I have to file open the first hole on the saddle so it fits.

If you want a pistol grip that is still over 26 1/4" you will have to get a Knoxx breacher's grip and then weld/epoxy a sling loop onto the sling loop stud....without an extension on the sling stud the measurement is 25 7/8" so it needs about 3/8" extension to get to 26 1/4"

The Spec Ops Folder is the same needs a minor extension to make it non-restricted.

I removed mine once I had taken the measurement....

wheee. just ordered mine.... confirmation said up to 3 weeks for delivery =(

...just to double check cause it wasn't mentioned on canam's site... are both stocks included? (reg and pistol)
