So who's buying the new STI GP6?

Well, I know for sure the metal insert is slightly different, in that it is now serial numbered. I heard a rumour that the trigger pivot pin will be through the metal insert instead of just the frame, but that remains to be seen.

I'll report when mine arrives.

K100

My model 6 seems ok on the trigger. But then I have arthrities in all my fingers so I can't feel any more whats good or anything.I'm glad to go bang.

Mines the origional K100, and the single action trigger and reset is fantastic. The double action pull could be better, but it's perfectly OK right up until you compare the SP01 Shadow..

(Of course, the SP01 owners might say the same in reverse)

The front of the trigger guard is square, not angled. The insert seems to be anchored with two pins, not one. The safety is plastic and thicker, not steel and flat.

STI vis K100 model 6

Looking at the images, I can't see any differences between the two.
No dought there is something STI changes internally but what would they be?

We shall see when they land. The most notable if you look on the right side of the gun, you'll note that there is now a cut out on the frame and a serial number engraved on the steel frame insert. This model is importable to the US, while the past models very likely are not.

Bought a 2 tone K100 from Marstar when they had them. To me, the trigger's fine. DA is a little heavy (~ 9 lbs) but the reset is fantastic! It's been serving me well in IPSC. I bought a Mk6 later for a "just in case" gun. Besides the trigger guard and the color scheme, everything else seems the same.
Dunno about the new GP6's. To me it looks like the whole Remington/Baikal SPR deal. Same gun, new label.

(E)

Well, my GP6 is here in my hot little hand. The double and single action triggers seem a little sweeter. The safety is crisper due I guess to new frame mounted detents instead of the origionals in the frame insert.

I'm just itching to get it out to the range.

I dont have the arthritis, but my mk6 has a nice trigger pull.... feels nicer to me than anything else I own.

While the STI rebadge is interesting, if I spend that kind of money on another 9mm, it will be a CZ75B

Is TSE still selling Grand Powers?

I suspect only what's left in stock. I was talking to the guy at Target Sports, who suggested they were no longer importing the line.

Buy now while the deals are possible. There's nothing wrong with the older guns, just can't take them south of the border. With Freedom Ventures carrying the STI version, spare parts and mags will not be an issue.

Well I always felt the price wasnt that great with glocks and SIG polymers going for around the same. If it was a 550$ gun I would have been all over it.

I'll be tarred and feathered by the Glockophiles, but this is a much nicer gun IMHO.
