I’ve used wipeout in many a guns, some sat 48 hours when I got busy. I’ve never had this occur. My guess is wipeout knocked crud out of the pits doing its job and that wipeout wasn’t the culprit
This. I traded a K98 in on a Shadow and got less than I'd hoped for it. Why? Because the fellow I did the deal with showed me a huge "void" for lack of a better term in the K98's barrel, just about and inch in from the muzzle. There was a big pit in one of the lands that wasn't there before I used Wipe-Out overnight just before I traded it in. That rifle had been in the family for years, and nine of the family saw this pit. I figure the Wipeout floated out all the stuff that had filled it in over the years.
