What's your favorite "plinking" caliber?

As noted, the .22LR is cheap to shoot, and no recoil..
However, I get more satisfaction busting clays set on the backstop with my
numerous 9mm units...
I have gone through hundreds of guns in the last 5 years, but the number of units in 9mm continues to be the largest category.....

Hmmmm.. I just realised, I don't plink with pistols, all of my shooting, even if it's casual, is geared towards IPSC competition. Even my .22 is a Beretta conversion unit for cheap training. So I guess my favourite plinking round is .22 magnum in my rifle. I'll have to look at a handgun to go with it....
