Soaking an SKS stock to remove cosmo?

Thanks, so just to clarify metal parts in the soap and water? Do hou have a method for drying that works best, heat register, or just drip dry,

If the water is very hot the pieces dry quickly. I have used a hair dryer on trigger group as well. The factory finish is quite durable and protects the metal as intended for extreme battlefield use.

I just dry the metal with paper towels then lightly coat all the metal with a bit of gun oil... just wipe down exposed surfaces and spray a light mist over anything I cant wipe. So far, non of my corrosive shooting guns has ever seen a spec of rust.
