I recently heard of Socom Firearm Corp. I was wondering if anyone knew what type of quality their ar-15 and ar-10 are, compared to other major companies?

I'm new to the whole Black Rifle disease so bear with me :)

There business model is lame, they only build to order. They never have anything instock, and they never answer the phone. IMO it's a half assed business with half assed management. If I ran my company the way they do, I'd be out on the street....
 
They are just Valtor or Noveske uppers bolted onto a Socom lower, chances are the lowers are contracted out to a company like Dlask.

For the same price I would look at LMT's MRP rifles or KAC from Questar, or for something that more custom have Alberta Tactical build one from scratch for you.
 
Ok that makes better sense.

I having been looking at an LMT for a couple months now... just saving up the money to make a purchase. And if these Socom rifles are on par then I'll just stick with the LMT.

I had a few email conversations with Gabriel @ Socom back in January re an AR15.
Nice enough guy but I ended up buying from another sponsor 'cause the communication with them was too slow for my liking.
Hope your experience is better. They seem to have some nice stuff.
