SOCOM Mount

Not sure if this should be in te Gunsmith area but I have a question about mounting the SA SOCOM mount on a Norinco barrel..

Went on smooth but has a slight slant forward. Anyone else have these problems? Is it supposed to be level with the barrel and is there sapce to the back when mounted.

If someone could compare to areal SA SOCOM that would be appreciated.

Being that the barrel is tapered I would assume it would cant forward.

The socom uses standard GI contour, as does the Norc,

Even my 18" HBAR was tapered.

Are you sure you've got it the right way around?

Good point. The attachments are forward towards the barrel. Same as this image.

Im playng with the two set screws on the top, they should allow for some additional adjustment.
