I bought a used SOCOM 16 about a month ago at the EE Forum and I was tinkering with it yesterday. I found some parts in my parts bin that has not been used and was put aside for a long time. These parts are the following:

1. PRI Front Folding Battle Sight
2. Ladder Rail Protective Cover in Black
3. Tango Down Rail Cover in Black
4. Magpul MIAD Grip in Black
5. Nightforce Scope
6. Smith Enterprise Gas Shims

Then a few weeks back I got a Mapul PRS Stock in Desert Tan, A Rifle Length Buffer Tube and lastly a set of used ARMS 22 Medium Height Rings.

The result for my initial set up for this project. Just giving the rifle a new look and this it already came with the following parts.

1. Sadlak Titanium Coated Gas Piston
2. Sadlak Spring Guide
3. Smith Enterprise Extended Bolt Release
4. Set of Sadlak Tools

The Pictures, enjoy. :)

Changes will still be made to this rifle and the final set up would probably be done in a few more weeks to come. Anyways, this is it for now. Thanks for looking at the post.:)

Just had to redo the scope setup and got a Leupold 3.5x10x40 IR to go with the ARMS 22 rings, placed the spare Nightforce on the side and this is how it turned out.

geez, with all the work they put into that chasis they could have made a whole new kind of rifle instead of trying to dress up an old man in spandex...

forgive me, im fond of walnut ;)

Nothing wrong with wood. I like the Boyd's stock. Maybe, next build. I still like to make something like a SEI look alike in 18.5. Ventilated handguard to go with it.:)

I'm not a fan of the tacti-cool uber-railed look, but I do like that JAE.

I am also a fan of a really nice piece of walnut. My favorite M-14 would be the SA M-21a Tactical. A nice classic but capable package.

Holy #### those rifles are sweet!

How much does the jae one weigh? The mcs?

I wanna dress up my chopped norc, but I don't know to what stock.

ever considered lower rings on the JAE? or benefit from the clearance to mount one of your larger objective scopes, I'm sure you have some.

This may sound stupid, but I have *no* experience with anything not bolt: I'm assuming that those are Restricted and you need to be part of a gun club?
