Soft case for an AR.....reccomendations?

Give DropZone tactical a call. They have some left over LE Cases that I bought for $100.

I made this thread when I was looking for a case, some good info in here.

And, here is the case I got from DropZone -

Check out OPSGEAR, there stuff is mostly for paitballers, though they seem to be set up for "REAL STEAL", I get stuff from them for my son and I, for that reason. There stuff is of reasonable quality, not ment for a heavy duty work out, but looks good and has stood up to anything I have put it througth. They have a carbine case for about $60 USD, and a full length rifle one for a couple bucks more. I have used the carbine case for my 870, and it has held up well.

How do these measure up against the double lock requirement for restricted guns? ie trigger lock then locked in a container for transport

Is there a provision on the case for a padlock?

There were some pictures here of a guitar case that looked perfectly innocuous until it was unzipped.

I found a black nylon "tactical" softcase by Bob Allen at Princess Auto a few years ago. You never know what you're going to find there.

Why spend $2000.00 for a new rifle and then put it in a $60-$70 soft gun case? Never been able to figure that one out!

Buy quality. Hardigg Stormcase, Pelican in "hard" cases, or look at quality "soft" cases like Waller, Tiger Tactical, Eagle, etc...Look at it this way, you're protecting your $2000.00+ investment!

LOL...no....I'm protecting my ass (legally speaking)
I don't need to spend mega bucks to ensure my rifle makes it from vault to car to range and back....just to make sure I'm doing it "legally". If I get deployed to the sandbox and the targets shoot back? I might look at a little higher quality gear, but seing as the biggest threat to my rifle is the dip in the highway close to epps, I can't justify putting the bucks into a case.

That said, my working (hunting) rifles get nothing but the best. Plane/boat rides coupled with the fact that (unlike my AR) if the gun doesn't work when it supposed to, it can be a HUGE deal.

I just picked up a couple of UTG soft cases at TSE... $30 each. Both my AR and my 870 Tac-2 fit, one in each of course.

El Cheapo, but like you, I'm quite certain they'll make the trip from the safe to the truck to the range etc etc.
