Soft Vintage shotgun Market

Especially for the M70's alone.....

So many that diss the pre-64 M70's have never owned one or shot one. . Same with vintage Browning Superposed and Model 12's. . Shoot'em, hunt with them, own them and then tell us how useless they are and how pot metal and plastic and investment cast made in Japan and assembled in Portugal is so much more cool and better to own. . :)

SHADDAP!!! I just want to go and laugh at the obscene prices. No other reason. Nothing to see here.

if demand for the vanilla varietites of these guns was there, you would see them snapped off the EE. But it just isn't there. Try and sell afield grade model 12 in 12 gauge, it's nearly impossible unless you give it away. the same applies to auto 5s.

I would definitely take a new winchester 70 fwt over a pre. These new ones are fantastic rifles.

Yup, you hit the nail on the head. Everyone should pay attention to this.

unless you're diving into the premium market of high quality doubles, modern shots are in a lot of way better.
Take my browning silver for example. it shoots 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells without adjustments, is approved for steel, came new in the box and has a checkered wood stock. That's a good deal at the 1k price range, and I could sell it tomorrow and get most of my money back.
I see no better bargain out there in the vintage gun world.

Premium items from any Era will continue to be sought after especially if they feature the correct name on the side. But a plain field grade, like the op superposed, doesn't attract much even though it could still be useful.

Don't know where you'd find a new FN South Carolina M70 here in Canada. . Try the LGS and see what's there in new Winchester rifles. . You'll find the Browning take off's made in Potugal stamped imported by Morgan Utah with the Winchester name on it. . It's not even close to anything remotely related to any M70 ever made let alone CRF of any style. . It's a low end Browning.

I've been waiting for an Extreme Weather, in 300 WM, to use on the quad but so far nothing. . Now they're telling me they can order one at the next shot show. .

Well claynuster has all the answers first salt wood is so over exsagerated on this site it is ridicules as stated it is new in the box no salt issues in 45 yrs then there will be no salt issues . I have been selling firearms and gunsmithimg In retail outlits since 1977 I have seen maybe ten salt guns rifles not shotguns . As for the rest of your observations some are valid some not so much . The second listing of the gun sold in minutes . Yes they are heavy they clunky and they kick like a mule that's why I sold it but there guys out there that seem to shoot them well

I've seen 5 salt wood Browning Superposeds one of which I almost purchased. Anyone buying a Browning from the affected time period should check to make sure.

Congratulations on your sale. Your plan to draw attention to the gun that was languishing on the EE with this thread worked brilliantly. Good job!
