Solar Chargers

Need a solar charger that will do more than just your MP3, Blackberry or iPod? Need one that can charge your laptop, or other larger electronics?

How about one you can use a 12v plug with?


We now have flexible solar panels on the way that will do this for you, which are found here under "Mission Support".

The Helios 12 (below) can charge small electronic and even larger ones like satellite phones.

The Helios 124 (below) can operate at higher voltages that are required to charge lithium ion and other battery types and can typically offer charge times equivalent to a wall or vehicle charger under ideal sun conditions.

What one can charge cell phones, ipods, GPS', cameras and mid sized laptops?

The Helios 12 will do cell phones, ipods, gps, video cameras, sat phones etc.

They list the Helios 25 as the starting point for laptops, but it sounds like the 12 will do the smaller laptops, it just takes longer than the smaller items. If you know for sure you'll be using it for the laptop, or want it for emergency situations, I'd go with the 25 as it will also run TV's, radios, electric ice chests etc.
