Sold all restricteds and I am out of the game.

And we needed to know this why???

Sounds like a subconscious attempt at seeking validation for allowing others to dictate what he does and how he does it. Just my take.

To answer your question we(as in the CGN crowd) didn't need to know this, nor do any of us really care.

Someone (A Dealer) should put together a "Restricted" package. You know, just a frame of something that is restricted and sell it for super cheap.
Makes owning one in the Restricted club and bulking up the numbers of owners a lot easier.

No need to worry boys, the universe will always balance itself out...the wife goes for her Rpal this April. A swap of ownership on a few of mine and voila, another restricted owner/shooter. ;)

how did you manage that? I keep trying to get my wife to come out. heck, I have even bought 'her' a few guns and she still won't. I guess have not bought her the right one. I'll have to keep trying... :)

It helps considerably with a younger/earlier start. Both of my daughters have had trigger time with 22 pistol and carbine. Keeps them on our side as they get older.

Kids being kids, one kept the latent interest, and one did not. Yin-Yang thing going on right here.

I have a couple daughters as well so, yes, hoping they will show a little more interest than mom. We'll see

My wife got her Rpal shortly after I got mine and we haven't looked back. She may own a few more pistols, but I have the rifle and shotgun category locked down. The nice thing is we have introduced many new shooters to the sport and try to involve more every year.

I'm not rich or Jewish. I get 200 bucks a month for EVERYTHING; snacks, coffee, toys, fast food, watch, glasses, whatever. That's my budget. I sacrifice and save my 200 bucks until I have enough to buy a gun. Then I shoot it and keep saving and sell it and buy one that's a little better. Doing this I managed to get my tavor tricked out with an elcan etc. I'm NOT rich by anybm and. I make 23 bucks an hour and support a wife and mortgage and pull off my hobby with 200 a month. Needless to say I don't get to shoot much. but at least I have stuff to show for my monthly spending money. It took me 4.5 years to get my Tavor where it is. One step at a time. My wife blows her 200 a month on coffee and makeup and clothes mostly and has little to show for it after the last five years. I have tangible goods!

Even a poor man can have nice guns. Budgeting is key.

Hey good for you, whatever, restricteds were not you thing, I still think you should have kept one cheap one, but not a big deal. Many on CGN are tightly wound .

Saving is a lost art and many ppl get obsessed with spending too much money on their hobby, whatever it is. I also refuse to do that.

Oldest daughter started shooting a couple of weeks ago...she's hooked. Now my wife is coming this Saturday...just needed one to get the ball rolling. Now my two younger ones are pestering me too...

I did the same thing as OP [the money is nice, the lack of red tape and tied up finances is another fringe benefit] and have zero regrets. By no means should anyone circlejerk all over OP's face for a decision he made, but it is fully expected on this forum. [and somehow respected which is rather ironic, as all of the "Gun Freedom" types are the ones #####ing about OP's freedom to make a decision on his own]

If I was in the OPs shoes, I would have done what a few decent others did suggest here. Kept a single handgun in 22 LR. Just for the sake of perhaps the gun laws might once again turn on us. Much like the late 1990s, and those without snub nosed revolvers, 25 or 32 Autos at the time, lost out on the 12 category of prohibited handguns. And temporarily turned yourself officially into a collector, so you do not have to join a club until you feel differently and can afford club fees.

have a good day folks......

Well I am keeping my fingers crossed. One of mine is a princess but the other is a total tomboy so I have hope. If I get my wife out once, she will no doubt outshoot me and enjoy kicking my ass so much she'll want to come back for more.
