Sold all restricteds and I am out of the game.

I think we should turn on the OP and accuse him of being a Wendy Fudd Liberal Anti and tell him what a POS coward he is for throwing all gun owners under the bus and being the reason why we have no rights in Canada and we're all going to burn in perdition.

What a monster!

Edited post: for all you trolls who are acting like religious bigots towards a fellow gunnut who differs from your particular position on things, this is what I am proudly keeping and the optic came from the proceeds of my virtually unused restricteds sale:

I have been known some atheist bigots in my life.

I sold everything I had. Ammo, accessories, and my pistol collection. My circumstances and inordinate concern with more and better guns convicted me to do it. Tired of always coveting nicer pistols when they are nothing more than paper weights in Canada. it's a weight off my shoulders to be out of the restricted game. No more needless red tape. I'm off the reatricted grid. It feels good. It's been tough but I'm adapting to contentment with a shot gun and a rifle. My wife is happy about it too.

WOW that is a f***ing sweet rifle man!! What is it? mods etc!! seriously I want to know. I almost want to make it my wallpaper!

I understand your position man, sometime you just have enough, I am contemplating the RPAL very much though. As a kid in high school I bought firearm magazines and just drooled over the revolvers in there like the S&W ones..i swore that one day I would own one. The only thing holding me back is the god darn ridiculously restrictive laws...If I cant shoot it on my land or need all kinds of special requirements it a hassle and hassles I hate. This is why I am planning to move south sometime soon...you know land of the free...

If I was in the OPs shoes, I would have done what a few decent others did suggest here. Kept a single handgun in 22 LR. Just for the sake of perhaps the gun laws might once again turn on us. Much like the late 1990s, and those without snub nosed revolvers, 25 or 32 Autos at the time, lost out on the 12 category of prohibited handguns. And temporarily turned yourself officially into a collector, so you do not have to join a club until you feel differently and can afford club fees.

have a good day folks......

Like I said, I'm not opposed to getting another restricted in the future when my covetousness is in check.

Its a Tavor. It has a Midwest Industries XL Keymod hand guard, Gearhead Works FLEX swivel plate on the opposite side of the ejection port, a keymod tooless foregrip, Inforce flashlight, I forget the name of the flsh hider but it has a half inch rim that covers part of the end of the barrel, Timney trigger, and the Elcan Spectre DR optic (paid for by restricteds sale). I just have the Gissle trigger bow pre ordered and plan to get the curved buttplate from Zahal in the future when it comes out and then the project will be complete. All I will want after that is a spare barrel when they become available. It's been a good four plus years to build this rifle up.

Thanks!

I am just buying my first handguns. I have owned riffles and shotguns all my life and I believe that honest citizens, not just criminals can have handguns.
I think you will miss your handguns.

how did you manage that? I keep trying to get my wife to come out. heck, I have even bought 'her' a few guns and she still won't. I guess have not bought her the right one. I'll have to keep trying... :)

gdawg: Truth be told, my wife would have nothing to do with firearms when we met. She was brought up that they were evil, kill kittens, or some other similar nonsense. Conversely, I've been around firearms my whole life.
I've been a club member for more years than I'd care to mention; however, about 5-6 years ago I changed clubs to a real "Cadillac Ranch" and began to spend an inordinate amount of time there. On many occasions I would bring our 2 sons. One day out of the blue my wife asks if she could come...to watch. Perfect, I thought and a family range day was born.
Once she saw with her own eyes that either guns in of themselves aren't what she was told, or that gun owners (aside from yours truly, the man she married) aren't homicidal maniacs intent on killing all that moves, she decided on her own that this "new" thing is kinda fun.
For my part I remained absolute in my position on firearms, all the while respecting hers (even though they were irrational:)). She knew that being with me equated to having firearms in the house, and that they are generally cleaned on the dining room table. I believe that she also came to understand that if she wanted to talk with me in our spare time, some of that spare time is spent wearing ear and eye protection. ;)

BTW, she's better with a .22 and .38 than I am. So to answer your question, I didn't manage her into a position that she should join me/us. Rather, I went about my business and she jumped on board. Once on board, take the time to be calm in your explanations and take the time to coach her.

*edit* That's some sweet Israeli kit Grity!

funny that is pretty much my situation too, plinker. Fortunately she gives me space to enjoy it and knows i come by it honestly given her father-in-law but she is still holding on to her general 'perceptions'. as i mentioned, once i get her out and she outshoots me (not too hard) she'll be hooked i'm sure. nothing like a healthy competitive rivalry...

OP...wow...religious drivel and such. What he is saying is he has no self control whatsoever...I enjoy the buying and selling as much as the shooting. All the lame issues with the feelings in his heart...really?
