Sold my SR-22 ... Now what to get

I sold my SR to buy a DAR22. Couldn't be happier with it. There's something to be said about it when a fly lands on the target at 56 yards and you can hit it. Prob buy the 16" version next to go longer.

How much is a DAR22 ? Just cant find anything on DLASK ARMS site.

Thanks

I went down the same path years ago.
Build a lot of nice rifles, but they where heavy azz SOB's and didn't serve much purpose unless you were strictly shooting off bags or a bench.
Now I try to build with "light and comfort" in mind.
I say give that route a try. You'll be happy you did. ;)

It cost me 676 including shipping for the 12.5" DAR22 with the trigger job included. The service and getting to talk to Joe made it even better.

Sounds very interesting as I am also considering a SR22 or upgrading a standard 10/22 with an Archangel Kit and aftermaket barrel. With all the add ons, I would probably end up with a more expensive and less accurate gun than the DAR22.

It would be bonus (The tacticool factor) if a DAR22 action and barrel could be fitted in an Archangel Kit :), but I understand it would be quite heavy... And I like the Boyds stock afterall

Thanks

I tried all day Friday...nothing...did get through this morning after letting it ring about 10 times.

There's an old saying about the mechanic who is always busy ...
Yah, official word is that they are slammed. My store is often the same - so busy it is difficult to answer the phone. When your products/services are in high demand, that's what can happen. It's not easy to hire more people for skilled labour positions, either. I mean, just answering the phone at a place like Dlask would take someone who has good firearms knowledge, including what parts are used in particular guns.

Just last week I purchased a used SR22, loaded to the nuts with aftermarket gear. She was as heavy as hell. I wasn't long stripping a good chunk of the tactical gear off.

As a side note ; My wife and I went to the range and I was actually quite impressed with the accuracy of the Ruger . It came equipped with an NcStar 2-7X32 scope and prior to the range visit I had it off and on a dozen times and in various locations along the rail and she still shot perfect with no changes.

Well I talked with a nice lady... But she didn't want to take my order for a threaded barrel / Receiver... She said I had to talk to Joe... That Doesn't sound good... will talk to him tomorrow...

I hear Joe's new stepped heavy barrels balance quite nice. And they should, I had a 16.5" Savage MK2 FV-SR, barrel O.D. was .850" and it was nice and light up front. How about a DAR22 w/ your choice of stepped barrel and a reasonable scope?

You are looking at up to a 4 week wait. At least that's what I was told Friday afternoon.

They don't even return calls... Trying to call again with no response...

wow I want to drop 1000$ and they dont want to take it...

I'm at about 5 weeks right now for a custom 1911 build...and Dlask can be brutal to get a hold of/talk to.

**just got called by Dlask that the 1911 is ready for p/u. Good times!**

Ok got thru... Boyd stock Threaded receiver stepped 16.5 barrel this sounds about right...

Joe asked me why I wanted a threaded receiver... I said i heard they were better... He said they are... I said then I want one...

He also told me his stepped barrels have the same accuracy as the bulls...

Cant wait to try them out....

Just got the quote from Dlask... All I got to say is I will find another source for parts on this project... I will just pick up the Receiver and barrel....

He wants 280$ for a timney trigger group and double the price on the boyd stock, double the price on the ruger bolt .... WTF is up with that.... Pretty pissed right now....

After all the money I've spent there in the last year, I don't appreciate getting rapped ....

Strange, I paid less for a new bolt from Joe than used ones are going for on the EE. Stock was pretty close to US factory direct, too (shipping those up across the border is $$).
The shipping is what usually kills me when I try to pick up every part from a different place at "the best price". I have figured it out in the past that I can pay a few bucks more per part if I order as much as possible from one place - and still save on the total because of combined shipping.

A ruger bolt is 24.66 from Brownells But I purchased the Volquartsen instead...

But with the export permits and the paperwork I have to fill out I still save a ton of cash....

Good choice on the VQ!
Does Brownells use UPS? I always end up with huge "brokerage" charges when stuff is shipped FedEx or UPS. Like, $40 on a $60 purchase last time.
