It's not a worker shortage it's a businesses don't want to pay living wage shortage. Supply and demand has shifted and instead of following along with their beloved capitalist principles they just ##### about how no one wants to be exploited any longer.

I completely disagree with your statement. It is a worker shortage, I own a business and it has nothing to do with businesses not wanting to pay. I pay my people $20-65/hr and I still can’t get enough skilled or competent workers. A living wage is an excuse of people that refuse to advance or excel with a skill that will earn more than being a Walmart greeter. On top of this, Trudope wants to pay people to sit at home and beat off.

Bull####. What are you paying that much money for that you can't find people?

Eatstone is correct, but to an extent, so are you Terribl_E. I have spoken to many local business owners and all are having difficulty finding and keeping workers, and in some places even fast food joints are paying up to $27/hr and still not being able to keep workers. Trudeau totally destroyed the work ethic, such as it was, of people in this country by paying people to stay home. The CERB program made sense early in the pandemic, but later on it should have been changed to perhaps top people up to the $2000/month so they would get their asses back to work. It is a HUGE problem. This is compounded by the high cost of living in many cities such that minimum wage is not a "living wage" but that needs to be a discussion with government and business owners, because for many businesses, having to pay workers more also is a problem. Essentially, our economy is in the ####ter.

the liberals flaming inflation isn't helping at all currently

Haha, bull#### eh? I assume that you don’t run a business with statements like those so I won’t bother debating with you on the struggles business owners face in today’s world.

As a small insight into my operation, I am a second gen owner of a family run commercial and residential flooring company with 10 inside staff and 12 tradesmen/woman. In order to attract the staff I need I have had to pay relocation costs and bonuses to people from as far away as Ontario. Coupled with the fact that my area has less than 1% vacancy and housing cost that are now higher than some city’s, this is incredibly difficult. I was almost to the point of travelling overseas to find trades people that would immigrate. Then let’s add on the minuim wage increases (to provide a living wage #♂️) and I now have to pay my staff more to maintain the pay gap. That means I now have to charge you more for flooring than I did 4 months ago.

Oh, and as far as not being able to find people, I can’t. I need mid level or better people, people that might not be trained in what I need them to do but are capable of being trained to do it.

Something else to ponder, some of my staff earn more money than I do. I carry the risk. But I live for it, it’s what keeps my blood pumping.

That's funny you just said you wouldn't debate and then proceeded to lay out your case.

Your right I'm not a buisness owner. I'm a former soldier currently working two jobs at a factory getting paid 21.25/hr. After tax my take home pay per month is 2600. In my city a two bedroom apartment that isn't infested with roaches or rats is about 1800 per month. That leaves 800 left over to keep my car running, after school care, food, saving and, providing a worthwhile childhood to my daughter. I would add in taking care of myself but let's leave that out for arguments sake.

I work two SKILLED jobs. One is in fabrication running a variety of machinery some of which I was sent down to the US to do training for. The other job is operating a ballistics lab.

So if you wan a pay me 40$ an hour to lay flooring I'm on board. PM me I'll relocate whatever. I've expirence with hardwood and tile. Put your money where your mouth is because I sure as #### am ready to.

One of the reason that people don't want to work for $20/hour is that they need a car because public transportation is so bad in Kanada. The only reason my wife is working is because she can walk to both workplaces but she sees a lot of fluctuation of workers because nobody can afford paying $50/day for a taxi. Also, on $20 wage per hour which is $41,600 per year, you have deductions of almost $8,000 which is insane on such a low income. You cannot even survive.

Just received mine today. Tactical Imports site still says that the order is processing. Reasonably fast delivery all things considered.

Fit and finish is slightly rough but by surplus rifle standards it's pretty decent. Better than the first run of 81's I think.

Lol these are not Surplus rifles, they are new production

People would rather sit on their fat asses and collect CERB than work. This is a fact.

Maybe change that to "some people" Many more people work than don't. Especially those that get paid more than that pittance and those that take pride in their work ethic. The rest are those that voted for Trudeau.

We live and work in different places and environments. If you have skills in tile and are willing to show that you can progress and get to where I need a tradesperson to be in terms of attitude, work ethic and willingness to succeed, then let’s talk. Shoot me a pm and I’ll send you my cell# and we can discuss.

Back on topic, I’m order 126xx and can’t wait for it to land on my desk. I wish I would’ve ordered the Kobra at the same time, it’s 200 orders later, ugh.

just opened mine, I ordered 2 more mags with optical mount, it arrived no mount and just 2 mags. Hope TI will make it right.

The mount and 2 extra mags will probably ship separate, the rifle comes with 2 mags in the box and there isn't room for more.

So the you hire people right off the bat at 40/hr right, because if you're telling me that you're only going to pay the low end of your pay scale then you're literally no better than every other employer who thinks 20/hr is a living wage.

You said you can't find people and yet here I am willing and ready. So is it that you can't find people or you don't pay enough. Let's just let it be a matter of public record since you are so confident the problem is everybody else.

Sure we can get "back on topic" if you like. I'm order 124XX and my stuff was suppose to be here yesterday but you know, Canada post, so I'll be picking it up on Monday.

CERB ended October 2020 and EI lasts about a year for those who apply, so it should be ending any day now.

So if what you’re saying is true, we should see a massive uptick in the next jobs report.

Basically a complete retraction of your previous statement.

Why would you take said jobs at that rate of pay,, then cry about it??

You and you alone are to blame don't push your living wage crap on the rest of us.
