Pretty much this.

At the used market price point people have set, they forget you're now in range of the cost of a number of better rifles. I'd rather buy a M10X even with some of the warranty requirement, just because it has modern ergonomics and mounts.

The type-81 is not inherently a good firearm, it's ONLY OK because it's cheaper. Take that away and you're just paying more for less.

I also love how in the past weeks since they announced a new batch coming, the EE has basically been flooded with guys trying hop on the price gouge train before the price tanks.

I have to, respectfully, disagree
T81 is a tried and true military combat rifle that is known to be an improvement on the venerable Ak design
It has no warranty issues and I heard has had no returns due to parts breakage etc
They had a bad run with the barrels being installed off, but the guns ran fine.

M10x is mostly lemons

Not many true combat rifles we can have, and even less at the price

You should let him get M10X, clearly he prefer "civilian marketing gimmik" over battle proven rifle.

Yes...because I'm not a freaking soldier...and I don't see combat. I've also previously owned a bunch of Kel-Tel stuff, and an CZ-858

I prefer modern convenience and ergonomics and companies who are willing to try new things if I'm gonna spend that kind of money. Rather than just "gotta buy it, MILITRAY GRADE! BATTLE PROVEN". Yes, so is a flintlock musket from the 1800 Napoleonic wars...

If that were the deal I'd just buy an sks and bubba it for a quarter of the cost. At that point you might even be able to get one that's actually shot someone in a conflict....

I'm more than willing to pay the dealer MSRP, but if you honestly think they're worth the 2000 dollars and up people are asking for them on the EE I have a bridge to sell you...

Update: I dm'ed Tactical imports thru IG and they stated the type 81 will be available some time next week.

So first week of January it is!

My Type 81s are hands down the most reliable firearms ive owned. They chamber everything flawlessly, FMJs, HPs and SPs. +30 to -30. Snow or dust. You will stop functioning before they do lol

I have owned a M10x and although mine ran very well without real issues regarding the rounds used it was picky with 1 mag. I loved the barrel, trigger, magazine catch and full length rail. But I already had to replace one part and the bolt was mushroomed at some areas. In the end i knew the bolt would fail like so many i see on the Facebook page. That for me was a no go as my safe is to small for unreliable #### honestly. I only go with battle proven rifles now as I need my stuff to be fully operational and dependable.

The fixed stocks still come with left hand safety and they are all parekerized (phosphate) instead of Blued.

Ahh yes I forgot about the parkerized finish!

I personally think the right hand safety thing was a big mistake, if they were going to do that then should have milled the receivers to allow for interchangeable left or right safety and included both in the box (left hand safety with normal pins installed with right hand safety and tapped pins included with the mounts).

As it stands you get one or the other and they are not interchangeable without modifying the receiver.
