So you can have a functional firearm with a right side safety while you save the money for the optic mount. TI would have to confirm, but the side mount rail could likely come pre-installed if requested when ordered with the Picatiny adapter or Russian left-hand friendly red dot.

You could always sell/trade the mount on EE for a normal safety + pins. I know I would be interested in just the mount for my LMG.

You can just select no when it asks about the mount - the only difference from a non-optic folder is that the pins will be threaded.

It'll function fine, you'll just have factory installed threaded pins and right side safety.

If you had them pre-install the side mount rail, you probably would have no extra pins and safety. If you just had them send the kit to install, then you would have another set. In that case, you could probably trade the set for a left safety where someone wanted the right safety with no optic mount

you could be right, the cost of installing the mount for us is they will keep the the extra pins and selector. pretty steep cost imho, considering it takes 2 min to screw in the mount.

TI would have to confirm, but I think the side plate the left friendly Russian red dot mounts on is the same as the one for the Picatinny adapter. Not all Russian optic mounts will fit the rail (see Gnutzguy YouTube channels for examples of one's that do not fit), but other mounts that are identical to the one sold by TI should also work.
