Take a look at the soley outdoor. They have it in stock. But this price is kind ridiculous as it only sells 20 bucks in China.

thats the wrong bayonet, another dealer has the correct one, it comes in a green plastic sheath.

So your saying it doesn’t fit or it’s the wrong bayonet for the rifle? I was under the impression the correct bayonet (type 81)had to be modified to fit and the incorrect bayonet (type 97/qbz95) fit without modification?

I didn't say anything about fit. It's the latter. Actually read this thread it will explain everything with pics. Remember the key word is green sheath.

I finally got a couple of the infractions overturned after way more effort than should have been required. The mod team is the primary reason I don't really post anything of substance here anymore, and I know I'm not the only one.

The owner makes money hand over fist while the mods get scraps at best. The dealer forums and EE are the only real appeal of this site these days and there are better buy and sell options now. They need to step up their game or this will just be a place resembling the OT, full of nonsense and idiots.

Staying on topic, seems like this batch is alright. I'm looking forward to my new rifles when the next shipment arrives.

WOW in your own picture you show your completely WRONG ! I mean come on man you can't see the problem ? The ring has a massive gap over the barrel and does not mount solid because it misses the raised rings completely

Yes sure its the type 81 bayonet BUT look at your picture in the link you put where the bayonet actually sits in relation to the barrel. We have MODIFIED type 81 rifles with longer barrels that bayonet sits way further down the barrel as see in previous photos making the bayonet NOT WORK because the barrel ring in the bayonet sits over the lowest part of the barrel and not the higher rings part of the barrel ! The Type 97 bayonet from the pictures looks like its ring lines up with a raised ring making the mount solid and therefor actually work !

Just look at the gap in the ring there is your answer so NO the Type 81 bayonet is NOT the proper bayonet for the Canadian modified version of the Type 81 because the rings do not line up with ring on the bayonet as numerous photos show

Thanks for sharing that and congratulations on the beautiful rifle. The full stock looks amazing now to preserve it in a sealed/temp control glass display case. If your friends want fondle it they have to wear gloves and there will be a small fee involved:) haha

lol, cant i see the problem? why are you repeating the thread to me? we known the short comings of the Type 81 bayo for 4 years now. it would be nice if TI got the factory to move those lands on the GL.

look, if you like something else that fits better than go for it. just bcos another bayo fits better doesnt make it a type 81 bayo, its not. that one is still a Type 97/ QBZ95 bayo. some of us do like originality.

Then by that definition the Canadian Type 81 ISN'T a Type 81 because its not original, It just fits our laws better with the longer barrel so already your not original.

ofcos not, if it were? do you think the rcmp would let us own it? hello? lol.

sticking to the subject of bayo. as for the type 81 bayo, as far as i can tell it was built to spec (albeit might be new production) so yes, the bayo is as orginal as you gonna get.

Where did you get that Butt-Pad?
Poor you, nobody's answering...
Anyway, it's a model that's produced by a few dozen companies around the world. You can find them on ebay, aliexpress, wish, amazon, etc. by searching along the usual terms. I personally do recommend it, it fits really well over the folding stock, though I had to carve a bit out the side of mine to allow the stock to fold better (it would still clicks in place, but the catch wouldn't engage very deeply).
P.S. Shop around a bit, they can be sold for as much as 50 dollars, or as low as 10 dollars, but they are all absolutely the same.

Got my shipping notification today for order 1238x, looks like they shipped it on the 23rd but didn't update the order status which is fine by me. Less time updating the status and more times towards getting packages
